Server and Peer to Peer however are just network examples, and they are not part of the major three.

The Ring Network is also known as a Token Ring. This type of network topology is outdated, but that certainly doesn’t mean it isn’t used anymore. That being said, it should be noted that some businesses will use the Token Ring and you may very well be one of them, though a Star Network is one of the more common. In a star network all of the computers revolve around a central hub, and that hub can communicate with other hubs throughout the network. A bus network is uncommon but still used occasionally. This is a network that must have a termination point at both ends, but if you want to extend the network you can use a barrel connector.
